The Hollow Review

I went into this one with no idea what to expect. So here I go with a little hope that this just might be good. If you are a big fan of CGI effects, and hardly any story, well this is a movie for you. I really wanted to like this one, but it just fell flat. The story is about three sisters going to stay withe their aunt on a island with a horrible past. The sisters have had a hard life, and pretty much have nowhere else to go. Soon, we discover that everyone is afraid of being here on Halloween. The girls are followed by a mysterious guy who seems to know something about the strange island.
So, from the get go, I was pretty stoked about the first kill, it seemed like the movie could go places, the people in the town not really wanting to discuss the past, and really being scared about Halloween and the storm coming. I wish the writers would have given us a little more about the past, but they failed on that. The only tidbit of history was about some witches and a curse put on the town.
To me, that was a missed opportunity to make something out of the plot. Pretty much, the whole movie is about some strange monster coming out and killing the people in the town, and a few survivors trying to stay alive. If you have a free night or you’re just bored give it a watch. It’s streaming on Netflix now. I will be honest, I was really disappointed with this film.
